Pot Luck in Office
My team decided to have a pot luck in the office back some time ago for a change from routine. Pot luck was the new term for me. Didn't know what does it mean. Had no option but to ask my team only what does it mean? Team members explained to me it is to bring 1 pre-decided dish from home to office for lunch on the decided day. At first, the dishes were decided. The conversation ended with the final dishes being roti, Any vegetable dish, rajma, chana, sweet dish, Biryani. Well, then it's time to decide who brings what. The process was decided to have a lottery system by preparing chits for each dish and each person picking one chit. Everyone agreed readily. Soon after everyone saw own chit, the complaints start about expectation and reality of the assigned dishes! Nobody were comfortable to be assigned the dishes they never prepared before or hard to bring in the next morning.
